Whatever the size and nature of our clients’ businesses, or the sector they operate in, employment issues are always of critical importance. By getting it right from the start, our clients can successfully protect their business’ most crucial asset.

Our clients range from small owner-managed businesses to PLCs and operate in a variety of sectors. We work closely with our clients to build long term relationships, thereby enabling us to advise them through external and internal changes which affect their business, and in particular their workforce, from time to time.

We take a pro-active approach to risk management in order that we can minimise (or indeed eliminate) considerable costs for the employer such as those associated with a tribunal claim, or recruiting and training a replacement employee. Whilst it is often not possible to completely eliminate the risk of encountering a disgruntled employee, there are a number of ways to reduce the likelihood of this arising.

We recommend that our clients put the correct contracts and procedures in place from the start, in order that there is a solid basis from which each party can understand their respective rights and obligations. It is, of course, important that this infrastructure is kept under review and updated periodically. We can prepare such contracts and procedures and we also offer an annual review to our clients.

In the unfortunate event that a dispute arises, we always seek to avoid litigation by adopting a practical and commercial approach to negotiations. We aim to minimise not only costs for our clients, but also disruption to their businesses, by reaching a speedy and satisfactory resolution.
