Join Hawkins Hatton as a senior property lawyer

Join our Corporate Team

Hawkins Hatton is a specialist corporate law practice with a 20-year track record advising businesses, owners, management teams, investors and lenders. We are looking for a Corporate Senior Associate to take day-to-day ownership of transactions, act as a trusted contact for clients and professional advisers, and support the development of more junior colleagues. You will work closely with established senior lawyers and colleagues across the firm, with the opportunity to build your profile and contribute to the continued growth of the corporate practice. The role is hybrid, with flexible working options available.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take day-to-day ownership of corporate transactions for business clients, managing matters from due diligence and negotiation through to completion and drawing on senior support where appropriate.

  • Draft and negotiate transaction documents and ancillary paperwork.

  • Act as a trusted day-to-day contact for clients and professional advisers, managing relationships directly and involving partners where appropriate.

  • Support and train junior solicitors and paralegals on live matters, and contribute to business development, client relationships and the wider corporate practice.

EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITIES

  • A qualified solicitor in England and Wales with strong experience of managing corporate transactions for private business clients.

  • Sound commercial judgement and the ability to manage transactions and competing deadlines.

  • Experience of supporting or supervising more junior lawyers.

  • Ready to take broader responsibility for client relationships, team support and business development.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

The Corporate Senior Associate will contribute to business development by strengthening existing relationships and helping to develop new clients, referrers and to support partners in pitches.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

Commercial, practical and clear in how you communicate. Credible with business owners and professional advisers. Collaborative and ambitious, with the confidence to take ownership while continuing to learn from senior colleagues. Comfortable working with colleagues at every level, and supportive of others' development.

CAREER OPPORTUNITY

This is a step-up opportunity for an experienced corporate lawyer who is ready to take greater ownership of transactions, client relationships and the development of colleagues, while working with established senior lawyers. It offers the chance to build a profile within Hawkins Hatton and play a meaningful role in the continued growth of the corporate practice. Salary is competitive.

We welcome applications from candidates whose experience provides an equivalent level of capability, even where their career path differs from the profile described.
